The Europa League season continued with the latest round of group games played during midweek.

It wasn’t a good week for the Premier League teams, at least one of them was already assured a place in the knockout stages though – then again Everton’s European aspirations were long gone anyway…

Arsenal’s unbeaten run in Europe came to an end when they slipped to a defeat in Germany against Cologne. However, the Gunners are already through.

Meanwhile, Everton were beaten, in fact humiliated at Goodison Park when Atalanta returned to Italy with the points and a crushing 5-1 win on Merseyside as the Toffees were embarrassed on their own patch.
