Paris Saint Germain went into the Group A deciders knowing a win against Ludogorets would secure them top spot, the two points dropped against the Bulgarian’s in a 2-2 draw allowed Arsenal to claim an unlikely place in the last 16 as group winners after a 4-1 win against Basel.

Besiktas knew a win and they would go through from Group B no matter what happened in the game in Portugal between Benfica and Napoli. However, a nightmare show saw the Turkish side thrashed 6-0 by Dynamo Kiev as they recorded an emphatic first win after losing the previous five – Napoli’s 2-1 win at Benfica secured the Italian’s top spot.

Group C was already decided, Barcelona were group winners with Manchester City joining them as runners up regardless. Barca put some poor domestic form behind them with a 4-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach whereas Man City were held by bottom placed Celtic, this ended in 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Bayern Munich‘s improving form saw the German Champions inflict a first defeat on Atletico Madrid in this season’s competition. Both had already qualified, with Atleti the group winners but Bayern can take a 1-0 victory with them into the last 16. PSV Eindhoven’s miserable performance in Group D saw them finish bottom and without a win after a 0-0 draw with Rostov.
