The 2016-17 season continues with the latest round of Champions League games this midweek as the knockout stages get underway. This will see us among those involved with a win of course the aim.

Fixtures

Tuesday 14th February 2017 – CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – ROUND OF 16
Benfica v Borussia Dortmund 19:45
Paris Saint Germain v Barcelona 19:45

Wednesday 15th February 2017 – CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – ROUND OF 16
Bayern Munich v Arsenal 19:45
Real Madrid v Napoli 19:45

The Tuesday games will see Benfica – who hold a one point lead over Porto in the Primeira Liga – looking to make the most of home advantage against Borussia Dortmund. The Germany side suffered a surprised Bundesliga defeat against bottom of the league Darmstadt at the weekend so will want a reaction here.

A run of six wins in the last seven – all unbeaten – from Paris Saint Germain in Ligue 1 has seen the French champions back into contention to retain their title. Barcelona – who haven’t lost in 10 – head to the Parc des Princes in one of the ties of the round.

Wednesday’s games will see German champions Bayern Munich – who have won eight of their last nine in the Bundesliga to strengthen their title defence – meet Arsenal in the Champions League once again. This has been a regular meeting in recent years.

Defending champions Real Madrid – who are leading the way in La Liga as they bid to win a first La Liga title since 2012 – host Napoli. The Serie A side have won eight of their last 10 – all unbeaten – in Italy so head to Santiago Bernabeu in good form.

It goes without saying the expectation; most definitely the hope at least, will be for a positive result. But will this happen? We’ll find out soon enough.

Ahead of the game we’re looking for your views on what way you think it will go, which requires you to vote in the latest poll in one of the options you have been given.

However, don’t just look also have a say. We don’t just want your vote, which you can do to the right, we also want some thoughts and views ahead of the game as well so share these below.
