A story in the one of red-top rags (which i have no intention of giving publicity to, by naming…) this morning says our ex-captain-and-all-round midfield monster, PV4, has re-iterated his belief that Arsene Wenger will quit the Gunners in the summer, but this time, SO WILL THIERRY HENRY – to join Vieira at Inter Milan.

Yes, that’s right folks, if at first you don’t succeed in stirring up sh*te, well, don’t let that stop you from coming back with more utter drivel, with bells on.

I refer not to PV4, of course, but the rag in question.

One cannot help but feel that this is a re-hash of quotes Vieira gave a couple of weeks ago, after the whole David Dein saga.

The article quotes a ‘close friend’ (of who – Arsene? Patrick? it’s not abundantly clear…), who says:

‘Arsene is still beside himself over what happened with David Dein. He doesn’t understand the board at all and is extremely unhappy.’Arsene’s very loyal, he doesn’t believe in breaking contracts and prides himself on being a man of his word. But he feels the whole matter was handled so badly it doesn’t reflect well on the club and has made his job a great deal harder than it already was.

‘His plan is to go on holiday, have a long think about what he should do and then decide if he is going to stay or not.’

Before going on to quote Vieira who says, ‘Without Dein, I think Wenger will leave and if that happens, it’s very likely Titi (Henry) will do the same.’

So, all in all, an article that is insipid, sensationalistic, saying nothing new whatsoever, and what it does say cannot be backed up with anything concrete. The main body of quotes being from this unnamed ‘close friend’, with PV4’s name tagged on to add plausibility to a somewhat empty piece.

I think all Gooners will recognise this for the bunkum that it is, and can rest easy that Le Boss will still be here next season.
