With yesterday’s links to Borussia Dortmund’s manager Thomas Tuchel as a potential summer replacement for Arsene Wenger, Arsenal were quick to rubbish the links and today Tuchel has given his own response.

German outlet Bild yesterday claimed that serious contact had been made by Arsenal and a formal approach had gone in for the man but as ever there was nothing you could hang your hat on.

Today there is, with the man himself quoted as saying that he’s happy with the contract he has and he has no interest of making the move to us.

‘I can’t give you any information about the topic because it doesn’t involve me. I’m happy with my job in Dortmund and have a contract, so it is of no interest to me.’

Nice to see that story put to bed so quickly, as whilst no doubt Arsenal are/should be sounding out potential replacements just so our files are uptodate, making a formal approach at this stage would just be unprofessional to say the least with the campaign still running and everybody saw how Manchester City’s situation with Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola turned when they announced far earlier than they should’ve.

And I also hazard a guess Arsenal know exactly what Wenger plans to do.
