Gael Clichy has offered Armand Traore his support ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea this weekend.

Troare has impressed this season with a string of powerful display’s down Arsenal’s left side.

He came to Arsenal in the summer of 2005 from Monaco. He arrived as a centre back but Arsene Wenger soon saw his potential as a left back.

He’s a very similar player to Clichy, energetic, fast and determined. Speaking of the 17-year-old, Clichy said: “Yes he had done well when he has come in. And I think he deserves to play against Chelsea.

“But if the boss wants me to play I will be more than happy.

‘The Carling Cup Final is the Carling Cup Final and, when you are at Arsenal, you want to play every game.

“Perhaps it means more to me than others because I was away [injured] for a year. It would be amazing for me and if I have to play one more game this week then I will do my best.”
