The transfer window is called the “silly season” for a reason, that reason being that a large majority of football fans completely abandon their senses and go bananas.

As a club we are constantly linked with tons and tons of players, 1) because we`re a decent sized club with opportunities to win silverware 2) we always seem to be in need of tons and tons of players.

One of the more hotly discussed rumours this summer has been the possibility of Leicester`s Mahrez joining the club and while the prospect is exciting you really can`t read too much into any of this until he`s wearing (if he ever does) the shirt.

The Gunners are currently on tour in the United States along with a whole host of other Premier League clubs and whilst out there Arsene Wenger decided to take in The Foxes vs PSG game.

Of course the internet went wild.

Now everyone is convinced that Mahrez is definitely going to join, completely forgetting the fact than in 3 weeks time we will be playing Leicester and Arsene Wenger was there to scout out the opposition.

Of course there is a possibility he was going to discuss Mahrez while he was there but the likelihood of that seems to be very small.
