Stats: CSKA Moscow v Arsenal

Arsenal entered tonight’s clash against CSKA Moscow with a first leg four one advantage but plenty of fans remained nervous as the first whistle approached given performances and results so far this year.

A four one scoreline is worth being positive about though and with Arsenal being the leading scorers in this year’s competition with a return of 27 goals so far, few expected it to be a dull affair.

With CSKA closing the aggregate advantage to only one goal as they took a two nil lead inside of the first 50 minutes – well it certainly wasn’t dull as expected and Arsenal’s consistency issues this season once again came to the fore.

15 minutes from the final whistle Danny Welbeck got on the scoresheet to restore a two goal advantage and calm nerves.
Aaron Ramsey’s stoppage time leveller saved all blushes for Arsene Wenger on the evening to see a six-three aggregate score at the full time whistle.

Arsenal now progress through to the last four alongside Atletico Madrid, Marseille and Salzburg.
