With the match clearly being a tough affair over the two legs given Atletico’s quality, Arsenal went into the game hoping to lean on home comforts to secure a clear advantage before we looked to book ourselves a place in the Final with the second leg.
In many ways, Arsenal couldn’t have got a better start as Atletico were reduced to ten men ten minutes into the tie as defender Sime Vrsaljko was dismissed for two yellow card offences. The man advantage didn’t prove to be useful ultimately. Despite dominating chances and possession on the day we looked set to take only a 1-0 advantage moving forward as Alexandre Lacazette found the net in the 61st minute. Antoine Griezmann found a leveller inside of the final ten minutes and, to put it simply, it’s about as good as a defeat.
Not true. Lacazette can score. Idk why u say he cant, he’s scored regularly now. Midfield, özil and Ramsey both play masterclass and provide great balls. Defense sucks. We all know that. It wasn’t our night

Fans are certainly remaining optimistic but reactions were mixed.

What a display of skill, passion, desire, determination and relentless. There were mistakes, yes, but I can't fault players such as playing below their average, some even put in their best season's performance. Whatever the results the combination on display gives me great hope!

Gunners are still there and I think we can do it in Spain and make the final

This just about sums up the whole season

We can do this, let us stop the negativity! We actually had a very good game bar that embarrassing defensive error that gave them an away goal. 1-0 would have been a great result but we can still go through!
