It’s been reported that part of Arsene Wenger’s summer bumper spend – should he stay of course – will go to Southampton for Serbian international Dusan Tadic.

Real football will soon be back with us (although that won’t be a solice for some with the year we’re having) and the link A with B transfer inventions to fill column inches will at least quieten down for a touch now the international break is over, but for now and with the usual caveats of absolutely no proof, a quote or even the sign of a divining medium, Tadic is a topic of debate.

The Mirror carry the report in explaining that we have identified the player as a possible summer recruit but it seems we’re only interested in him because he has a suggested release fee of only £13million.

Tuttomercatoweb also cover the story, but they don’t just include Arsenal as having an interest they also say Italian sides Juventus and Napoli are interested in the man.

Now this speculation would sort of make sense given his position and quality on the ball and in Serbia’s game against Georgia at the end of last week he scored both a penalty but also laid on two assists.

The 28 year old has it seems a fractured relationship with their manager and in recent times he’s seen himself substituted in five straight games and the Sun are one of many to carry those quotes following defeat to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the break.

‘It`s unbelievable that I was subbed again and we also lost. You can see statistically that we concede or lose when I`ve been taken off. I don`t think this shows enough respect for me.’

He continued.

‘This has happened a lot after my broken nose. The injury was a long time ago. I`m playing a lot and feel I`m important for the team ? but then I leave the pitch. I feel good but he doesn`t want to give me the chance for the whole match. Maybe he decided before the game he would sub me and he should not do that. He should know in the last 20 minutes there are lots of spaces and I am the kind of player that can make a difference with one move. As a player you want to play all game. And I think I deserve that.’

‘I am not the one who decides the future but I want to be shown more respect because of the statistics. Everyone is always asking me whether I`m injured after I get taken off. We spoke before about that and I told him a few times that but he doesn`t understand. He doesn`t show enough respect for me.’

So clearly there could be something in it from that stand point alone, especially with continuing questions about the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
