Sol Campbell arrived back in training today, and said he was feeling much better.

Campbell left Highbury at halftime in the 3-2 defeat at the hands of West Ham last week after being at fault for two goals in the first half, Sol was subsequently subbed at the break, showered, changed and went straight home.

There was a tense few days around Highbury, with reports from the media hacks of Campbell quiting football all together, going on to pursue a career in acting, or just walking out on the Gunners. Most of it was fabricated rubbish, but there was tension regardless.

With Arsene Wenger, the FA and Kolo Toure all making failed attempts to contact the big man, worries mounted further, until Campbell’s lawyer issued a statement stating Big Sol was fine, and just needed some space.

Today, Campbell said that he had taken a trip to ‘clear his head’ when he arrived back at the clubs training ground on Monday morning.

‘I’ve been away since Thursday on a trip to the Continent. Things are OK, and I’m feeling better.’

Wenger backed Sol to come good again, saying, ‘We will help Sol to bounce back quickly and to focus and concentrate on the game of football, which is the best cure.’

After inital anger, Gooners are now offering Sol their full support, and cries of ‘Sol’s a Gooner’ rained down onto St Andrew’s pitch on Saturday.
