Apparently of interest to Manchester City, Everton and AC Milan, Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac has reportedly agreed a deal to sign for Arsenal according to various outlets, including Sky Sports.

Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs are currently the Arsenal left backs but there’s uncertainty about Gibbs future as he’s moving towards the final year of his current deal.

If confirmed, the signing of the out-of-contract Kolasinac – strongly linked a few weeks back – on a free transfer would see the Bosnia-Herzegovina international seemingly become the first choice option under Arsene Wenger (?) next season – would the in demand left back wouldn’t join without certain assurances?

Bundesliga expert Olly Knaack has commented on Kolasinac, 23, and how he would fit in perfectly at Arsenal as the German-boss defender knows a number of players in the current Gunners setup.

He told talkSPORT: ‘He was in the mix for a few other clubs as well – Juventus, Manchester City, Everton and Liverpool were mentioned, but obviously it looks like Arsene Wenger has the most money available, and was most eager to sign him. And the other argument for Kolasinac is there are a few other players he knows from the Bundesliga – a few other German players [at Arsenal]. He will fit in perfectly at Arsenal.’

Sky sources believe Kolasinac is a done deal so he’ll officially become an Arsenal player on 1st July.
