Arsenal are represented in the latest Premier League team of the week that has been selected by BBC pundit Garth Crooks.

Actually Garth is now down as a ‘Football Analyst’ these days, a posh term for a pundit then!

The performance by Alexis Sanchez in the three one victory over Watford at the weekend at Vicarage Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other, in the opinion of the former Spurs striker anyway, most impressive performers in the topflight over the latest weekend.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Crooks, we’ll also not argue with it, selected Sanchez as part of his team but explaining his choice he told the BBC.

‘This player is brave. Alexis Sanchez is not afraid to go in where it hurts. This was perfectly illustrated when the Chilean had floated into the box in readiness to accept a beautiful lofted pass by Mesut Ozil, only to be flattened by Watford midfielder Nordin Amrabat. This is a feature of players who have a desire to score goals. They must put themselves on the line, which Sanchez has always been willing to do. His goal was world class and the cross for Ozil’s header had me jumping out of my seat on Final Score. He was the difference between Arsenal and Watford and why the Gunners demolished the Hornets in the first half.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Sanchez for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Artur Boruc (Bournemouth), Curtis Davies (Hull City), Scott Dann (Crystal Palace), Wes Morgan (Leicester City), Danny Drinkwater (Leicester City), David Silva (Manchester City), N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United).
