With the Community Shield only a couple of days away from ushering in the start of the season (and thus providing us with many talking points) we`re going to have one last foray into the fantasy world of the summer transfer market at the end of this incredibly quiet week.

It`s been a couple of weeks since Arsene Wenger signed a player and some fans are starting to get ants in their pants, so let`s have a look at which players Arsenal have been linked with this week.

First of all The Express claims the Gunners are looking to cement their attacking options by bringing in the exciting Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund. I`m not sure how viable this transfer is but it sure would be fun to see Arsene sign another player right from under the nose of Brendan Rodgers.

Meanwhile The Star claims Arsenal are trying to muscle in on “Chelsea and Manchester United Target” Adrien Rabiot from PSG. I know nothing about this player, but I`m sure some Football Manager fans can fill us in!

The Independent claim that Arsene will replace the outgoing Thomas Vermaelen with Liverpool`s Daniel Agger after the Scouse defender “begged” Rodgers to let him leave. It would be another chucklesome transfer should it happen, not to mention much needed. Though I`m not sure Agger would move from one club he`s playing second fiddle at to another where he`s likely to be in the same situation.

In news that confirms we`re NOT after players Arsene Wenger has confirmed we were never after Sami Khedira, whilst the Sporting Lisbon president says Arsenal have not tabled a bid for William Carvalho.

So that`s your lot for this summer. Of course we`ll be reporting on any concrete transfer news and we`ll have the custom Transfer Deadline Day article where we all stay up till 1 in the morning for no good reason whatsoever.

‘Till the New Year then, my transfer rumour loving friends!
