The World Cup is over, the season is only a matter of weeks away and the silly season is getting into full swing.

As always, we here at Vital Arsenal will cram all available transfer rumours into one article in an attempt to contain any story (no matter how flimsy or realistic) so it does not spill out into the real world.

As you are all probably blissfully aware, one of our reported rumours actually came true last week as Arsene Wenger signed the fantastic Alexis Sanchez, but will any of the following stories bring another smile to our faces?

Let`s find out.

First up is another transfer rumour that appears to have a bit of substance to it though quite how accurate the Metro`s article that says a deal for Sami Khedira from Real Madrid is, I`m unsure. However if Wenger does open his cheque book to sign the World Cup winner who is in the final year of his contract it will go quite some way to proving that world class players do want to play for Arsenal again,

Meanwhile Sky Sports say that Egyptian defender Ahmed Fathi will train with the club with a view to signing on after becoming a free agent. Considering how both Thierry Henry and Mathieu Flamini have both returned to the Arsenal ranks after training with the club I`d say this has got Arsene Wenger written all over it. With Fathi able to cover in defensive midfield or at right back I would think this has a fair chance of coming off.

The Express thinks that Arsene Wenger will make a bid for Norwich keeper, John Ruddy
as the Arsenal manager attempts to fill a Fabianski shaped hole. The Gunners are left with only one bonafide keeper and unless Le Boss is willing to take as risk with one of the younger boys, then one would think a goalie will be brought in.

Whilst the Telegraph believes we`ll be trying to lure the impressive Columbian keeper David Ospina to The Grove after a string of fantastic performances at the World Cup.

If both these goal keeper rumours are true it`s nice to see that Arsene has started putting back up plans into effect after seemingly putting all his eggs in one basket in past transfer windows.

Well that`s all for today.

‘Till next time!
