Rosicky Rues Easy Opportunity

In that crazy night at Ashburton Grove by far the easiest opportunity missed was that of Tomas Rosicky.

Now the wiley midfielder has spoken about the anguish it has caused him. Earlier in the competition he struck a 30 yards wonder goal against Hamburg, yet fluffed his chance from three yards with an open goal against Moscow.

‘It was the biggest miss of my career,’ he admitted.

‘I simply have to score from such situation. Also because of this, it is hard for me to speak about it.’

‘When I was going in, there were a lot of players and I lost the ball from my sight. I did not see it and tried to find it. But I found it at the moment when it hit me in my leg.’

‘It was an unlucky match for us. We did something similar in The Premiership against Everton (1-1). We have no problem in creating chances, we just have problems with scoring. That makes us worry nowadays.’

‘We discussed it with the lads, that is strange. It is hard to say something more.’

‘We have plenty of footballers that are able to score goals and practically all of the offensive players – Henry, Van Persie, Hleb, me and Fabregas – have got at least one chance on Wednesday.’

‘Perhaps it is about scoring first. But we canĀ“t panic. It will change soon, I am convinced about it.’

I hope and pray the Tomas doesn’t let this miss get to him, it happens to the best of ’em and a goal against West Ham on Saturday should really cure that Champions League hangover.
