José Antonio Reyes has once again stated that he does not want to return to London.

After publicly saying on at least half a dozen occasions this season that he doesn’t want to return to arsenal, he felt the need to do it again.

Reyes had a great start to life in Madrid, forcing David Beckham out of the team for a short time before Capello began rotating him with Robinho and Becks.

Since then his form has takem a nose dive and it now looks likely that Real Madrdid will not exercise the clause in his loan contract that allows them to sign him for a fixed fee.

Personally I think he’s a fantastic player, it’s just terribly difficult to get the best out of him week in, week out. But it was feard (and I mean feard) by some Arsenal fans that he would have to return to Arsenal.

Reyes has put those ‘fears’ to bed though. Speaking to the Spanish press he said: ‘I wouldn’t like to go back to London.

‘If I can’t stay at Real Madrid I hope I can go to another club in Spain, but I’m not intending to go back to London.

‘It’s not that playing for Arsenal was a disagreeable experience, but I didn’t like the climate after being in Spain.’

  • Sell him on and bring in someone fresh who’ll appreciate playing for us. Only problem I can see is that he’ll go to another Spanish side for a cut price as I honestly don’t believe Real will want him.

  • agreed scooch. Immensely talented, Jose Reyes looked as he was finally settling in England, providing some fine assists and coping with the physical demands of the EPL. Then Real M. (the tw*ts that they are) unsettled him by ‘declaring interest’ in him, as they do with every player on the planet that is quality and does not play for the Bernabeu outfit. Jose R. then decided to bottle it and seek comfort in his home country, and has been plain stupid since then. He is not playing for Real, his attitude stinks, he is displaying a fanny character and is doing everything to become a hate-figure among the Arsenal faithful. It will turn out that he has always been and will be a small club player, unable to cope with everyday things that modern top-level football asks. I hope we get some ca$h for him and find a good player. That means Baptista out as well, his attitude is quite similar to that of Reyes. Complaining about the weather. Unbelievable. All that money that they make and the weather is cold.

  • True stories G4L, I thought ”well fair enough” but they are on some sickly amount of money. If I earned that amount I would put up with rain on a weekly basis.

  • silly silly silly. your right about him being a small club player, looked good for a smaller club, which i might add, dumped spuds out of europe 😉 but never had what it takes to play for a big club.

  • He’s got all the talent but none of the brains. But with our budget tightened for the next few years, he could be a useful bargaining tool.

  • I aint going to say bad word about him, I think he loved playing for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger but hated England and its weather ect………. I sort of understand, hardly a nice place now is it?

  • If he could play at his best or even near it he would be a very valuable asset to the Arsenal squad but he is far too inconsistant for a player of his age. I don’t think that he ever had a problem with Arsenal itself just the country. I’m sure he could have afforded a cotton vest to wear but some people give up before they get started!

  • I don’t exactly want him back either, but he hasn’t technically slandered Arsenal in any way, rather, used trifling excuses to cover his butt. And I really thought he wouldn’t open his mouth again. :T

  • I reckon he will have to come back if no club turn up paying what Le Boss think they should be.

Will like to know what your reaction will be?

I will not mind him back, if he genuinely accepts that he was wrong with all he done in past and also he want to rectify his past mistakes. He will be doing himself a big favour in respect to his career. And also we are a bit short of options on left as of now.

  • everybody talks about all the good signings wenger has made, but reyes is not and never will be cut out for the premier league.he was one of only a few bad signings by your manager, and he is not stupid enough to have him back unless he has too.

  • Reyes signed a contract with Arsenal and should be made return. The weather in England has always been a bit miserable so he should have thought of that before he signed. (Maybe the signing on fee blinded him to it) Anyway, with Global warming, in another few years, it’ll probably be like Spain.I see Rosicky is out of the weekends game. He’s been finding form lately so thats a big pity.

  • Who can blame him, he doesn´t speak french right? so I guess he´ll never feel at home at Francenal.
