Waking up this morning and reading the news that Arsenal’s Jose Antonio Reyes will not come back to Arsenal was heartbreaking it really was, I mean I struggled to keep my Cornflakes down. Not.
Jose Reyes had all the potential in the world and yet his lack of balls to push through and battle his way to the top was greater than his talent.
‘I don’t even want to think about going back,’ said Reyes to FourFourTwo magazine.
‘I’d love to end my career at Real Madrid. I’m happy here. I wouldn’t say it’s a relief to be back in Spain, but I’m happy here.’
‘I don’t think I failed in The Premiership, but for players like me English football is very hard. It really doesn’t suit me.’
‘I struggled to adapt to England and so did my family. Everything’s shut at 5pm. There’s nothing to do, nowhere to go. I just got bored.’
‘I always wanted to come to Real Madrid. I didn’t have to think about it. Hopefully we’ll win something this season to prove we’re a new Madrid and it will go from there.’
To blame his failings on the fact that the shops close at 5pm is testament to the lads attitude, and it is that attitude that means not one Arsenal fan will give one good crap upon hearing the news today.
