Report: Two-time Premier League winner interested in move to England, amid Arsenal interest

|

Diego Costa would love a return to the Premier League following last week’s report Arsenal are interested in signing the former Chelsea man.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners, Juventus and Wolverhampton Wanderers are the clubs looking at making a move for the player, who is a free agent after having his contract mutually terminated with Atletico Madrid.

Should Arsenal make a move for Diego Costa?

Yes

No

Analysing a potential move for the striker, and it would prove to be a horrible bit of business from the Reds. If the club have learnt anything from their past dealings with free agents, who have played for Chelsea, they’d move heaven and Earth to make sure they transfer doesn’t happen.

David Luiz, Willian and Petr Cech have all proven to be hit or miss additions to the Arsenal squad in recent seasons. And adding another 30+-year-old veteran won’t solve their problems.

There is already a plethora of options available to manager Mikel Arteta, and adding one more number to the list is hardly a wise move. Folarin Balogun’s future at the club is already under threat, meanwhile, the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Eddie Nketiah make up the numbers for the central striking position.

You’d hope the Emirates Stadium hierarchy have learnt from their past shocking deals. Bringing the two-time Premier League winning striker to the club, when you have two hungrier and younger forwards available, really doesn’t make much sense.

In other news, Arsenal were right not to include a clause in this 2019 deal.
