Report: Arsenal looking to sell disruptive ace with asking price set at £25m

|

Matteo Guendouzi has played his last game for Arsenal with the club set to sell the French midfielder for £25m in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider.

The ace was let go on a season-long loan deal at the start of the season to Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin after a breakdown in his relationship with Mikel Arteta.

Guendouzi got involved in a heated confrontation with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Neal Maupay during the Gunners’ 2-1 loss last year and was asked to apologise by his manager, however, refused.

Should Arsenal let Guendouzi leave on a permanent deal next summer?

Yes

No

There seems to be a split of opinion regarding whether the 21-year-old deserves another chance for the north London giants. Some believe he possesses too much talent to be let go so early into his Arsenal career. Meanwhile, others think his disruptive attitude spells danger and he should be rid of as a result.

You can have all the talent in the world, however, history has always taught us that attitude is everything at the top level. The likes of Ravel Morrison come to mind when you think of such players.

He was a promising player who made the breakthrough at Old Trafford and was even labelled as a youngster who had ‘as much natural talent as any youngster we ever signed’ by none other than Sir Alex Ferguson. However, fast forward to 2021 and his career comes nowhere near the comments made by the great Scotsman.

The 28-year-old is a stark reminder to the likes of Guendouzi that you’re your own worst enemy if you don’t have the right mindset.

In other news, Edu is chasing the signing of a £45m Bundesliga defender.
