Report: Arsenal boosted by return of Sheffield United killers ahead of Slavia Prague clash

|

Arsenal have received a double injury boost ahead of their Europa League quarter-final second-leg against Slavia Prague with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli fit to face the Czech outfit.

According to the Daily Mail, the duo, who both faced questions over their fitness after Sunday’s game versus Sheffield United, could be win their battles ahead of Thursday’s clash.

The Gunners go into the second-leg having conceded a last-minute away goal against Leicester City’s killers despite having dominated large portions of last week’s tie.

Should Xhaka play LB vs Slavia Prague?

Youth has pretty much been the way forward for the north London outfit in a season where the more experienced members of the first-team squad have failed to deliver.

Since the almost-revolutionary clash against Chelsea back on Boxing Day, Mikel Arteta has found success with youth more than anything. A youth player has featured in every single fixture for the Reds since the Spanish coach decided to turn to youth in the game against the Blues.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say the clash laid out the blueprint for success for the former Manchester City assistant, who has largely struggled with his older stars.

Whilst the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard, Saka and Martinelli have added pace, energy, dynamism and an attacking threat, the same can’t be said for the older members of the squad.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Willian have all been the poster boys of inconsistency in a campaign where the Emirates Stadium giants are struggling to make Europe.

With Thursday’s game proving the biggest of Arsenal’s season, Arteta has been handed a big boost with the news surrounding two of his stars from the win over the Blades last weekend.

In other news, one of Arteta’s drastic moves from the win over Sheffield United has hinted at his selection for Thursday’s tie.
