Report: Arsenal battling Southampton and Tottenham for £20.25m-rated Bundesliga defender

|

Arsenal are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka and are said to be ‘watching him’, according to Bild.

However, they aren’t the only Premier League club scouting the £20.25m-rated player with Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur also said to be in for him.

The Gunners could be in a position of advantage in the race for N’Dicka, however, after the player’s advisor helped broker Nicolas Pepe’s move to north London in 2019.

Should Arsenal sign N'Dicka?

Yes

No

From having too many defenders to not having enough, this is the path that Arsenal seem to be taking after this season’s fiasco.

The Gunners had as many as eight central defenders on their books back in September, however, Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi had their contracts terminated last month as the club embarked on a clearout. David Luiz’s contract is set to expire in the summer and Calum Chambers’ future is far from clear after his return from a long-term injury.

William Saliba is due to return from his loan spell at Nice, however, his future is far from certain with reports claiming the player is fed-up. That would leave Pablo Mari, Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes as the only options going into next season with the Englishman the only right-footed option.

N’Dicka proves to be a young right-footed option, who fits the profile Arsenal are looking for. The young Frenchman has enjoyed a great season with Frankfurt this season possesses the skills off and on the ball to make the grade in north London. The 21-year-old has a 83.7% pass accuracy ratings and averages over two interceptions and clearances per game in the Bundesliga.

Another centre-half is paramount for next season given how little options will be available to Mikel Arteta next campaign. N’Dicka’s age and profile suits the club down to the ground as they look to build on what is turning out to be a shocking season in N5.
