Arsenal’s Robin van Persie has said he wants to become more of a help to his Arsenal team mates.

Not that we begrudge him it too much but van Persie is an impact player and as such likes to take chances on from all angle (see awesome goal v Charlton) but now the Dutchman says he wants to make more assists.

‘I have not set myself any objectives, but I have focused myself on improving my distribution and passing,’ van Persie said.

‘I want to help my team-mates, I want them to trust me in every situation and know that I am there to help them on the pitch.’

‘It is important for a striker to work hard for the team – that can be through goals, assists or just being there for your colleagues.’

I hope van Persie doesn’t take this to the extreme and lay the ball off when in a shooting position.

van Persie’s whole game is centred around that lethal left foot and with his selfishness comes explosive goals and exciting tricks, however improving his passing and crossing can never be a bad thing.
