Harry Redknapp has made an audacious attempt to lure Mr Arsenal to Fratton Park to become his number 2.

Since retiring from the mighty Gunners, Adams has had his finger in many pies which include college courses, managment, scouting and much more. However, it appears that Tony Adams will become Redknapp’s second in command after admitting he was very excited about the offer.

‘Harry is a guy I respect,’ Adams told Sky Sports News. ‘I think he’s a great man and a person I’d love to work for and help.

‘It’s a very serious offer. I’m definitely very excited by it.

‘We’ll see how it pans out over the next couple of days. There are a few loose ends to tie up.’

Big Tone also revealed he was to start proceedings for gaining his Pro-license after talking about the job he went for in Holland.

‘I got the head coach’s job at NAC Breda, but unfortunately the KNVB turned me down as I haven’t got the Pro License.

‘I start that on the 19th of this month, but their association is very tough and very black and white about it.

‘I wanted to get a little bit of European experience of coaching. I worked in Feyenoord with Wim Jansen which was fantastic for me.

‘I wanted that again, but God laughs at those who make plans.

‘Harry came along – my silver lining. He tells me the fans are unbelievable at the place and I’m very interested in helping.

‘It looks like it’s green, green, green at the moment, but there are a few things and football is a funny game.’

It’ll be good to see the big man back in the Premiership.
