Ex-Arsenal man Ray Parlour certainly didn`t have a shocking career, but did he have a shocking evening when he played 888casino`s Electric Blackjack Challenge alongside The Only Way is Essex star, Amy Childs?
The pair made use of 888casino`sUltimate Blackjack Strategy Guide; the guide features a host of tips to help them avoid the shock. Blackjack master, John Scanlon, of Aspers Casino, was also on hand to help the two Essex-bred stars out.
To increase the difficulty of the challenge, which was filmed before Childs` announcement in October that she was pregnant, the master also acted as judge, jury and executioner as he punished the pair for any sloppy blackjack moves.

Clearly it wasn`t Parlour`s day, the man who racked up 400 appearances for the Gunners took an absolute battering from the master`s electric shocks, but conceded that he had learned much from the experience.
Both players agreed that the challenge had made them better players, and that they had more knowledge of what to do, and what not to do. Many think the game is based purely on luck, but shrewd moves can push the odds in your favour.
Parlour added, “I know from my playing days that it can be tempting to make quick and rash decisions whilst under pressure.”
“But now I have a better understanding of the blackjack plays and know when to go for another hit. That electric shock hurt more than a Martin Keown tackle though.”
