Between a bitterly disappointing league defeat and yet another opportunity to redeem ourselves in Europe, perhaps few would have paid attention to a nothing reserves game at the Arsenal training ground today. But I would have followed it had I known that it was Aaron Ramsey’s first game for Arsenal since his horrific injury at Stoke in February.

The image of Aaron wearing this season’s new home shirt was fantastic in itself. He looked lively and happy to express himself a little bit with a dribbling, tricky run towards the end of the free video on arsenal.com. The club also reports that he put in a solid performance and almost marked his comeback with a goal if not for the Wolves keeper’s save.

In the other goal was Manuel Almunia, who also made his comeback from injury (not sure if I should use quotation marks here) with 45 minutes under his belt. Both first-teamers went off at half time when the scoreline was 0-0 and their colleagues secured a 2-1 win in the second half. This way for the arsenal.com match report.

Really, really look forward to seeing Rambo go on to the Emirates pitch!
