Top Gooner, Ian Poulter, has landed himself in hot water with the tour cheifs of the Abu Dhabi Championship, for wearing his redcurrant Arsenal shirt in his first round of the tournament.

The Englishman, is world renouned for is extravagance when it come to clothing, but this is the first time it’s landed him in bother.

Poult’s said, :’The Tour weren’t happy and one of the officials did speak to me last week in Abu Dhabi.

‘I can’t see any problem with the shirt. It has a collar and I am not being paid to wear it nor do I have a contract to wear it.

‘Yes, it has got an Arsenal club badge and yes it does have the O2 sponsorship but I am not reaping any reward from it.

‘At the moment I don’t have a clothing contract and can wear whatever the ever hell I want. There is a rule about the size of a logo but only if you are sponsored and being paid by that company and that’s where we differ. I haven’t got a problem but it seems the Tour might have and if they have, they can tell me not to wear it and I won’t wear it.’

Poult’s has also seen to be wearing golf shoes bearing the Arsenal crest, and also balls and tee’s with the famous Gunners logo on.
