Lucas Perez has this evening returned to former club Deportivo La Coruna.

Having come in to Arsenal last August for a reporting £17million odd, he struggled for game time in his first season making only nine starting appearances with a further 12 showings from the bench but in those games he did find the net seven times.

Game time was always the issue though and he’d made no secret about hoping to move on this summer transfer window and particularly back to Deportivo for greater game time, and today Arsenal agreed terms for the 28 year old to do just that on a loan spell until the end of the campaign.

The arrival of Alexandre Lacazette certainly didn’t improve his chances of game time either.

Whilst Arsenal have confirmed the move, subject to the completion of regulatory processes, there’s no indication if the move is a loan with a view to a purchase or whether or not a buy clause exists in the deal.
