Which the summer signing admitted he felt he would have had more of by now, with Lucas Perez admitting to a little frustration at the lack of a ‘starring role’ for Arsenal so far.

After signing from Deportivo La Coruna for £17m in August Perez came to Arsenal expecting to be involved more than he has so far, ahead of the Middlesbrough match (with him coming off the bench again) he told Onda Cero.

‘When I first arrived here I expected to have more of a starring role.’

Going into that match Arsenal had won seven-matches in a row so he did concede with those being selected ahead of him in the forwards role ‘doing a great job’ he could understand why Arsene Wenger wasn’t changing.

The 28-year-old might have wanted to play more but he hasn’t knowing all he can do is take his chances when they come along.

‘I had hoped to have more playing time, but what I have to do now is make the most of the opportunities I get.’

Wenger might look to make a change or two now that the winning run has come to an end, if this chance does come he has to (as he said) take it!
