Lets face it Ray Parlour wouldn’t be alone in wanting to see Antoine Griezmann at Arsenal.

However, as much as former Arsenal midfielder Parlour would like to see Griezmann join from Atletico Madrid he doubts the likelihood of the Gunners signing him ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Actually attracting Griezmann to Arsenal is something Parlour feels would be possible but as the wages offered from Premier League rivals would trump what we could – or would – offer means we’ll miss out.

Parlour was quoted by talkSPORT – via the Daily Star – as saying.

‘I would love to see them buy Griezmann. But it comes down to the wages.’

Wages apparently determine the club overseas players sign for according to Parlour.

‘These players come to the Premier League don`t worry about the team they play for, they worry about the wages. Griezmann will look at it and see Manchester United are interested. Chelsea will think they can maybe offer more.’

I think Parlour’s right that some players will be looking for a payday ahead of anything else but Griezmann might not be one of them. If Arsenal could compete with Premier League rivals for the fee the 25 year old will command maybe we could sign him?

That being said everything tends to stack up against the Gunners bringing French international Griezmann to the club.
