At least this is what Alan Shearer has said of Mesut Ozil following Arsenal’s draw with Manchester United on Saturday.

Had it not been for Olivier Giroud’s last minute equaliser at Old Trafford the unbeaten Arsenal run would have come to an end in a match most of us would admit didn’t see us at our best for whatever reason, but to still come away from Man United with a point was a good point all things told.

Shearer’s been quoted by the Metro with what he told Match of the Day, with the pundit critical of the performance.

‘I didn’t think they played well at all, they were very poor for the vast majority of the game. They looked very leggy, very tired, very sloppy.’

He was more critical of Ozil in particular though who he didn’t think was ‘up for it’ on Saturday, adding.

‘Even this guy, Ozil, who has been brilliant for all the season looked really tried, wasn’t up for it today and it was mistake after mistake.’

Up for it or not, that has been and gone and the thing we know for sure is Arsenal DO need to be up for a very testing five or six-weeks ahead as these upcoming weeks are going to shape (not quite define mind) our season.
