Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mesut Ozil will start tonight’s tie against Ostersunds.

The German playmaker didn’t feature for Arsenal during the group stage of the competition, but he has named a strong squad for the 32 first leg clash and that means a return to the starting line up for the World Cup winner.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media for his pre game press conference yesterday, the Frenchman said of the player.

‘He will play tomorrow. We want to do well in this competition. We played on Saturday, we play tomorrow night. Over the weekend we have no game. So we have one week without competition. It`s important our players keep at the competitive level. When you go in a competition it is to try to win it no matter where we are in the league. The pressure might be higher maybe but we try to go as far as we can. We go into direct knockout. We play a team who has come out of the group stage, so they are a good team.’

In other team news, Wenger confirmed that Jack Wilshere, Laurent Koscielny, Petr Cech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had not travelled with the group – Aubameyang is ineligible for the tie.
