Arsenal are represented in the latest League Cup team of the round that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the two nil fourth round victory over Reading last midweek at the Emirates Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the League Cup competition.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Oxlade-Chamberlain was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the EFL Cup blurb read.

‘Another international striker, another brace. This time it was Oxlade-Chamberlain, who helped Arsenal past a stubborn Reading side. The England attacker netted a goal in each half to secure a 2-0 success and book a home tie against former club Southampton.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Oxlade-Chamberlain for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the win and progression through to the next round.
