Since the editor in chief is in his car on the way back oop Norf after today’s game, I’ll take the liberties here.

Following Arsenal’s narrow and slightly fortunate F.A. Cup victory over Huddersfield Town this afternoon, we were drawn to play away at Leyton Orient in the 5th Round of the F.A. Cup. Arsene Wenger’s men will travel to Tottenham’s soon to be local rivals on the weekend commencing 19th February.

The good news omen hunters, is that Arsenal have won all 4 of their F.A. Cup ties against the O’s. The bad news is that the last three times we have played them in the Cup, we have gone on to lose the Final- in 1952, 1972 and 1978.

The F.A. are of course intent on convincing us all that the Cup is a proper family competition like. That is until it comes to the rights to print the cup draw in full, at which point they become about as admirable and well moralled as one of Don Corleone’s henchmen, so we can’t print the whole thing. Not unless I donate them my liver in payment. I would be willing, if only I hadn’t already donated my liver to the Jamieson’s brewery in County Cork.

Orient typically give up 1,459 tickets for away supporters for league fixtures. I think they’ll be exempt from the 15% rule applied to clubs with bigger stadiums in the F.A. Cup. So basically, if you want a ticket, then you’ll need a significant amount of away credits.LD.
