Following yesterday’s speculation of a potential swap between Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, it’s now being said that will categorically not happen.

The original speculation seemed a bit wild and later in the evening further speculation suggested such as idea was dead with City apparently launching a £50million straight cash offer for Sanchez – that was rejected by the club.

Sources have now told Sky Sports that reports of a swap deal are completely wide of the mark and whilst Pep Guardiola continues to have a strong interest in signing the Chilean international, he doesn’t want Sterling going anywhere.

With Chilean media T13 previously reporting that Sanchez had asked to leave the international training camp to ‘conduct personal business’ Arsenal have also denied the player handed in a transfer request, but the international team themselves have confirmed he remains part of the squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers – but one thing is for sure – Sanchez is going to be prominent on Deadline Day.
