Late yesterday evening, Arsenal officially denied that Alexis Sanchez has submitted a formal transfer request.

With continual speculation about his future and with only a few days left in the transfer window this summer, losses to Stoke City and Liverpool have only increased speculation that the Chilean international has decided his time is up at the club and that he’ll be moving on this year.

Sky Sports reported last night that following the four nil defeat a source had told them that Alexis was now extremely unhappy at the club and many fans would point to him falling to his knees during the game as we conceded yet another goal.

With less than 11 months remaining on his deal and no movement in the offer that is on the table, Arsene Wenger has already spoken about keeping him at letting his contract run down, whilst saying he remained happy at the club but this report is only going to fuel the fire once again.

Clearly with a few days remaining in the window, and with reported interest from Manchester City, this topic isn’t going to go quiet on deadline day.
