Olivier Giroud’s agent has poured cold water on any speculation linking him with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window.

With Giroud finding starting spots hard to come by this season given the form of others, manager Arsene Wenger has regularly played down any concerns about the Frenchman’s future – especially given his goal return – but that hasn’t stopped rumours circulating in the media and online about his future.

In response to that it appears the 30 year old’s agent, Michael Manuello, has attempted to stem those rumours himself in a piece carried by Foot Mercato.

‘Olivier is very well at Arsenal. He will make his season here. Nothing is possible in January. He has no plans to move during the winter transfer window.’

The same outlet also re-references the comments Giroud himself made at the end of last month, where he explained.

‘I have no doubts over my Arsenal future. As with each year, there is competition for places at the big clubs. There are a lot of attackers with different styles of play.’

He was also quoted as saying.

‘I see my future at Arsenal for another two or three years. Either the date of my end of contract. I feel good there and I want to play as long as possible at the highest level.’

Of course this won’t stop the speculation, but with hopes of a good season both domestically and in the Champions League having topped the group, you would be very surprised if Giroud wanted to move on – game time or not – right at this moment in time and more importantly whether Arsene Wenger would want to lose his strength in and around the box with January notoriously not a great time to strengthen.
