Alexis Sanchez has been talking about his approach to maintaining his fitness levels and stating that his career won’t last for ever, he insists his approach has always been the same.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with club media over the international break, Alexis’ efforts on the pitch are well known – as is his behaviour for example when substituted – but the Chilean international explained his overall attitude and approach to things has been the same since he was a youngster because he wants to make the most over every minute of his career and play every minute on the pitch.

‘I have always been like this. My career won´t last forever and I am aiming to be one of the best players in the world. I want to do my best and be professional until my career ends.’

He went on to explain.

‘I enjoy football a lot, I always wanted to be one of the best players in the world and I’ve been saying that since I was a little boy. I will slow down after I retire, but for the time being I will carry on like this. I just try to train well, sleep well and be professional at my job. There’s not much of a secret to it.’

With 22 goals scored so far across all competitions this season, Alexis remains a source of pride and a highlights in recent weeks but his emotions and potentially injury worries always dominate the headlines – as does talk about his future – so it’s nice to have a positive and pro piece about him even if it is of the fluffy variety.
