Match Preview Liverpool vs Arsenal

Arsenal face a huge test of their championship credentials tonight with a trip to Anfield.

It`s true that Liverpool aren`t performing quite as well as the Anfield faithful might have hoped but when it comes to this fixture anything can, and usually does, happen.

Victory tonight would leave us an almost insurmountable 15 points clear of Liverpool and more importantly, keep us top of the table (maybe moving us further clear depending on other results).

The more time passes the more I feel Arsenal can genuinely pose a threat to our 10 year wait for the league title, but it`s games like these that will really tell us if we`ve got what it takes.

Vital Quotes:

Arsene Wenger – “Every time we go to Anfield, we face a team who is up for it, it`s always a ferocious battle, no matter who the manager is.’

Jurgen Klopp – ‘My respect goes up day by day because it’s really intensive to work in the Premier League, especially in a team with international matches (for their players) too.’

Liverpool Team News:

Assume everyone has a hamstring injury.

Player to watch: Liverpool`s Physio

The medical team for the Anfield club has seen more action than any of their players in recent months. I`m surprised he hasn`t got his own squad number.

Arsenal Team News:

Alexis Sanchez is a little bit short for this match but could return at the weekend. David Ospinaaaaaa is expected to return (to the bench) whilst Tomas Rosicky has resumed full training but probably won`t be risked.

Player to watch: Mesut Ozil

After earning himself a well deserved rest for the FA Cup win over Sunderland last weekend the German will be back looking to help his team to victory. Liverpool have looked incredibly shaky at the back and an injury list that rivals our own means they`ve had to bring Stephen Caulker in on loan.
