Finishing 4th is one accomplishment that so many teams are trying to achieve. The lucrative payday, not to mention the lure of playing in the Champions League is too much to bear for some clubs and they drive themselves crazy trying to get there.
However one little thing that most people often forget is that finishing 4th doesn`t get you CL football, only the opportunity to attain it and the only way a team can do that is through the play-off rounds.
Unfortunately the Gunners, despite leading the league for much of the season only managed fourth and as such will now face two very unwelcome fixtures against Turkish side, Besiktas.
Arsene`s Army face the tricky away tie tomorrow evening in what is guaranteed to be a hostile atmosphere as those Turkish fans, in all fairness, are bonkers.
It does however afford us the chance to get some more match fitness under our belts and it represents an opportunity for the new boys to get to know each other a little better.
