Arsene Wenger’s red & white army embark on their first away day of the season tomorrow as they face Manchester City in the evening kick off of the days Premiership festiveties.
Fresh from earning their first win at Ashburton Grove, Wenger’s young Gunners look to make amends for last seasons horror road show that saw us lose more games on our travels than we had in the previous three seasons combined. For what ever reason, we seemed to have problems coming to terms with the physical aspect of the game, especially against teams of a more Northern persuasion. However, as last season drew to a close, Le Boss seemed to have found the right combination of skill, flair and power to drag us home to Champions League glory, well fourth place but after the season we endured pipped the ‘Squirts’ to 4th on the last day of the season felt like glory.
City have not gotten off to the best of starts this season, drawing one and losing one, so Wenger will be looking to capitalise on any insecurities & weaknesses in the City starting line up.
The game at the City of Manchester Stadium is always a little special for me, because it gives me opportunity to attend a game that doesn’t involve more time spent on the coach than I do with my matchday experience, freeing up plenty of time to sample the local brew.
So lets hope we start as we mean to go on, with three points and plenty of songs about hating Man Utd!

Hideous elbower Ben Thatcher could face an internal susspension from Stuart ‘Pyscho’ Pearce. I think he needs more than a susspension, he wants locking up as his wrap sheets is longer than Peter Crouch’s socks. Also City’s new stopper Isaksson is ruled out after needing surgery, so Nicky Weaver keeps his place.
