The Champions League’s best goalkeeper wants to stay at Arsenal for another year.
There has been rumblings for quite sometime now that the crazy German will sign a new deal, and Lehmann’s latest comments seem to affirm those rumours.
He said: ‘Playing for any other team would be a step backwards compared to the one I’m in at the moment.
‘Other clubs may be more successful but I don’t know of any that play more attractive football.
‘I would like to spend another year here but I also know Arsenal wouldn’t hesitate to sign any other goalkeeper they thought was better than me.’
However, as he has previously stated in the past, it seems he would like to finish his career in Germany.
‘The Bundesliga is still of interest to me.
‘When my wife Conny and I returned to England after the World Cup we both said that it would be nice to go back to Germany.
‘The grounds and the atmosphere there are great but I’m not prepared to make any statements on specific clubs.’
When ever Jens wants to leave, I’m positive he will get the blessing of Gooners all over the world. His stint as Arsenal’s number one is not the longest by a long shot, but what he has brought to our team will always be remember by at least one particular Gooner.
