Arsenal’s transfer window will end without – it would seem – any arrivals but the loan exits of Chuba Akpom and Gedion Zelalem have been confirmed.

Having made just one first team appearance this season Akpom’s search for this has taken the striker to Brighton on loan until the end of the season.

Akpom spent last season on loan with Hull – where he made 41 appearances scoring seven goal – with the 21 year old England U21 international previously having loans with Brentford, Coventry and Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners have also allowed Zelalem to leave for another loan spell with the 20 year old heading to Dutch club VVV Venlo.

Last season the midfielder was loaned to Rangers but despite his highly rated nature Zelalem – a regular in the U23 side – hasn’t managed to force himself into Arsene Wenger’s first team squad.

He did come off the bench in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Southampton in the FA Cup.
