Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Francis Coquelin will be missing from action for a minimum of 3 months.

The French defensive midfielder has become a staple in our Arsenal side and has been outstanding since coming back from a loan spell at Charlton. Unfortunately Francis only lasted 14 minutes in the 2-1 defeat to West Brom at the weekend before coming off with a knee injury.

Following the Champions League win last night Wenger confirmed our worst fears that Coquelin will be out for at least 12 weeks. He told Arsenal.com …..

It is what we feared basically. Let`s be realistic, it will be 12 weeks. He does not need surgery. It was a knee ligament so it will be 12 weeks.”

On the brighter side he did also tell us that The Ox and Theo Walcott could be back for the important game against Olympiacos in two weeks, which following the comeback of Aaron Ramsey last night, is a relief.

“For Olympiacos, apart from tonight, Oxalde-Chamberlain will certainly be back while Theo Walcott has a chance.”
