Arsenal`s all conquering Ladies team have snaffooed a tenth league title in sixteen seasons with a 4-1 win over Chelsea at Emirates Stadium last night. After the disappointment of League Cup Final defeat to Everton and being deposed as European Champions following last season`s unsurpassable feat of not losing a single game in ALL competitions. (But hey, we`re no strangers to unbeaten campaigns around here). Two goals from Karen Carney and one apiece from Kelly Smith and Kim Little was enough to defeat the Chavarellas and secure yet another league title.

During Vic Akers sixteen year tenure, the Gunners have won ten league titles, eight F.A. Cups, nine League Cups and the UEFA Cup. Their monopoly of the womens` game was threatened briefly when Fulham went professional (but then subsequently went bust). A glowing Vic Akers said, “It’s great to win the title again, it feels as good as it has done every year we won it. It was particularly nice to do it at the Emirates and in front of a decent crowd – that made it a special night for the girls.’ Indeed a crowd of 5,285 were on hand to see the girls finalise their title win. The Ladies will be looking to win their third consecutive F.A. Cup on Monday, 5th May, when they take on Leeds United at Forest`s City Ground. Nice to see one Arsenal team winning trophies 
