Lacazette Pleased With Arsenal Start

Summer signing Alexandre Lacazette has been talking about his pleasure at his start to life at Arsenal.

With the October international break now upon on, Lacazette explained that he made the move to play with the calibre of player like Alexis Sanchez, and although he’s only started two games alongside him, he feels the signs are promising and he’s been thrilled to have found the net on four occasions so far in the Premier League as he settles in.

Speaking to the Official Site this week with manager Arsene Wenger already praising the ‘promising combination’ of both Lacazette and Sanchez during the victory over Brighton last weekend, he explained.

‘That`s also one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Arsenal – to play with players of Alexis’ calibre. Just seeing him in training, I like the way he plays and his mental attitude. His approach makes me want to play alongside him – hopefully for many years.’

With a return of four goals in the top flight following his arrival from Lyon, he also went on to admit that he’d been happy with his adjustment so far.

‘I`m enjoying it. The Arsenal staff are excellent and they`ve helped me a lot. Also, the fact that there are quite a few French players in the club has made the transition much easier for me. On the pitch too, I feel a good connection with the fans, so overall I am very happy.’

He went on to add.

‘The main difference is that the game is a lot more physical. The pace of the game is also very different. I now really understand what it means to play box-to-box. Things can move so fast that you don`t have time to catch your breath or think about the next move. As I said, though, the main difference is that the game is much more physical.’
