In the past few months two of Arsenal’s most important players have signed vital contract extensions, giving Arsene Wenger a world class core around which to build the next great team.

Thierry Henry & Cesc Fabregas are two of the three most important players for The Arsenal, with Kolo Toure being the third, and now Kolo has joined his freinds in making his stay in North London a very long one.

Arsenal.com have released a statement saying Toure has signed ‘a new long term contract’. No details of the deal have been given out but I would hazzard a guess at a minimum of four years.

“I can see myself staying here [at Arsenal] for the rest of my career,” said Toure. “Why would I want to leave. I love my football here, my family is settled here and the club is ambitious. It is fantastic.”

Toure is one of the most under-rated defenders outside our fantastic club, and certainly amongst the top five in the world, having him, Cesc & Henry as the spine of our team will ensure long term success and the ability to lure some of the best players in the world to our club (not that we need anymore at the minute)

Long Live The King!

  • I think it is 8 years and it is has been a great week for us after that ECL match with MasKow and i wish this goes on hey guyz it is 5 wins of of 5 in the league can we do it to 49 agian???
not just winning but some draws will do it

  • Yeah, Arsene Who should sign an new long term contract for an undisclosed fee!!
Great news about Toure. And I like the way other clubs under rate him; at least they won’t be sniffing around! How long are Djourou’s and Senderos’s contracts? Those too should be lengthened. Hell, let everyone sign new 8 year deals!!!!

  • It’s good for you that he has signed an extension, but what difference does the length of it make these days anyway? If a player wants to leave it just means the club may get a higher transfer fee. On the other hand if he goes down with a career ending injury the team has to continue to stump up!

  • Westl, I agree a lot of players like Ferdinand, Dyer’s and the like, think nothing of the fans and clubs who support them. But there are a few players like Toure or Gary Speed who value the clubs and the support they recieve immensly, its just a shame there isn’t more of them around!
