There haven`t been many bright spots in the 2010/11 campaign for Arsenal, even though it looked as though we`d finally break our silverware duck for a while there, however there has been one consistently brilliant ray of light shining proudly for we Gooners this season, and that ray goes by the name of Jack Wilshere.

It may feel at times as though the media has it in for Arsenal, nobody seems to like us, and when we lose many people take great joy in that, but because Jack Wilshere is English, he`s cut some slack and, as usual, hyped up beyond belief.

However this is one of those rare occasions where the player is seemingly living up to the hype.

Now let me start by saying I`m not a fan of player awards, they were proved to be a sham when Thierry Henry had a 30+ goal season was top of the assist charts and was still pipped to World Player of the year by some goofy show pony with a handful of goals and assists to his name. But that said, even though the final outcome of the voting might not always be accurate, I guess a player has to be at least halfway decent to make that list in the first place.

Jack Wilshere was awarded PFA Young Player of the Year prize in his first season as a first choice player, and I`m sure nobody can argue that this is one that isn`t fully deserved.

Wilshere has played his heart out this season with a consistent string of energetic, passionate, thoughtful and down right ballsy performances, the best of which came on a glorious night at Ashburton Grove were Jacky stood toe to toe with the finest football players on the planet ?? and whooped them all.

We might not have much to feel happy about at this moment in time, but with a player like Jack Wilshere on the books, there`s always hope of good things to come, there also a feeling that Wilshere is doing a fine job in bridging the gap between players and fans.

So we here at Vital Arsenal would like to offer our congratulations to one of the finest young players we`ve seen in a long time.
