Alex Iwobi has been one of the few highlights in what has been a very disappointing season

The 19 year had made a few cameo appearances throughout the season and impressed in them all. In fact he impressed so much that for now, he has cemented himself in the starting XI.

After grabbing his first Arsenal goal away against Everton he quickly followed that up with a goal against Watford before helping himself to two assists in the 3-3 draw with West Ham at the weekend.

At such a young age he`s big, strong and loves having the ball at his feet. Iwobi says that his goal against Everton helped him settle into the side even more.

“That moment was crazy! When Hector got the ball and I saw the space, I just tried to sprint for my life.”

“Thank God Hector found me, I got the ball and scored. I can`t describe the feeling, I started losing my head and the celebration? I don`t know where that came from, but I`m sticking with it now!

“The best way to describe it is that it`s my number [45], and the Gunners [are] Arsenal. I was just excited and also my friends told me to do something crazy, so it was for them.

“I already felt at home [in the team] but that goal made me a bit more confident, made me try a few more things and made me feel a bit more relaxed so I was happy to get it.”

Meanwhile his teammate and fellow whipper-snapper Hector Bellerin says that he`s proud of Iwobi and how he`s progressed this season.

“He has shown a lot of dribbling and creativity up top. Sometimes the team needs that, it is very nice to get a breath of fresh air from a player that have come from the academy and have played in the under-21s and under-18s. We are very proud of him and he has done very well.”

It`s an Iwobi love in at The Grove right now!
