A lack of progress on Wojciech Szczesny’s proposed transfer from Arsenal to Juventus could see his former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti hijack this deal and take him to Inter Milan instead, reports the Evening Standard.

Having refused to meet Arsenal’s asking price, Juventus have reportedly offered only £4m for the Pole, Szczesny, 28, could see out the final year of his Gunners deal at the Emirates Stadium as Petr Cech’s back up.

Szczesny’s asking price varies as it has actually been claimed the club aren’t holding out for £14m, not even £15m, as the Arsenal asking price has increased to as much as £20m – a fee the Gunners will NOT receive from any club.

Interest from Inter Milan could bump up the Szczesny fee if nothing else.

Spalletti, recently appointed at Inter, is looking to ‘enter the race’ for the goalkeeper he knows well having worked with at Roma during his long-term loan, taking him to the San Siro if Juventus can’t conclude a deal.
